How I can help
My professional background
I founded Youth Arise YOUTH ARISE HUB
A project targets youth aimed at youth economic empowerment while reducing plastic pollution, drug abuse and climate change action by promoting collective sustainable business ventures: Paper bag making, tree planting and craft making. Life skills education with intentional integration of minimisation or even stopping of drug abuse is a major component of the project. This is because educating idle young people is a ‘waste' of resources. Therefore, the economic empowerment combined with mindset change produces solid and sustainable impacts. To achieve this, youths must first be Motivation Many young people drop out of school in Uganda to several reasons including poverty, lack of focus, among others. They tend to look for ways of survival, most of which pose great threats and insecurity to the societal well-being: ranging from drug abuse to occupy their idle time, theft and robbery; unsustainable use of natural resources(cutting trees for charcoal, aggressive fishing, etc.). This cycle continues in most cases. If these youth are to be organized in a way, mentored in various life and entrepreneurial skills, these problems would reduce while accelerating achievements of SDGs. Since most young people love sports and entertainment, organising sports especially football events will enable easier mobilisation of youth. Occasionally, music events will be integrated.
